What Is LIBS Spectrometer?

Published: Tuesday, 09 September 2014

LIBS, Laser-induced Breakdown Spectroscopy, which is a technology by using a short wavelength of a laser pulse, and breakdown a micro part of the surface of the target sample and transform it into plasma for observation. This technology, compared to other analytical techniques, has the following advantages:

  • No sample pre-preparation needed.
  • Covering a wider elements range, and those lighter elements such as H, Be, Li, C, N, O, Na, Mg
  • Very fast analysis in a single analysis, only few seconds needed.
  • Do not worry about the substrate interference.
